"ELYSIUM"
"Spoilers ahead"
This week I will be reviewing the film "Elysium"
In the year 2154 the earth is an overpopulated and polluted. Most people live in absolute squalor in near starvation deprived of most medicinal technology. The upper class of human society live in orbit on board a gigantic space station known as Elysium. Elysium contains some of the most advanced technology known to man even medical device that can cure any disease, regrow entire limbs, and even reverse the ageing process. A long running feud exists between the Inhabitants of Elysium and the people on earth who supply them with their every need and desperately need the technology on Elysium.
One of my favourite directors Neill Blomkamp directed Elysium while it certainly inst one of his better films, Elysium was certainly one of his fetter films. Nonetheless Elysium was an extremely enjoyable movie with a great social commentary that explored a plethora of political and sociological themes like work exploitation, immigration, overpopulation, health care, social classes, and the justice system. Elysium's visual effects were spectacular the scenes were extremely well done every scene captured the feeling of the story. The acting was spot on in this movie especially from Sharlto Copley's character Kruger, I never really imagined he would play a character like Kruger and I was genuinely surprised with how much I enjoyed him as the character. I would highly recommend Elysium to anyone looking to pass some time or a good movie to watch.
interesting!
